Fees

Elevate fees: minting and marketplace

Every fee is set on-chain per collection and cannot be changed quietly afterwards. There are no hidden percentages. Here is exactly what collectors and creators pay, and to whom.

Fee schedule

ApplicationFree.
Platform mint feeFixed per collection when the contract is deployed. Charged on every mint — including free mints — as a flat amount per NFT. Shown on the collection page.
Marketplace feeApplied to secondary sales on the Elevate marketplace. Capped at 10% by the contract; split alongside creator royalties automatically at settlement.
Creator royaltiesERC-2981. Set by the creator at deployment (receiver and rate), enforced on every Elevate marketplace sale up to the configured cap.
Listing gasFree for sellers: listings are off-chain EIP-712 signatures. Buyers pay gas at purchase.
Network gasPaid in TAO by whoever sends a transaction, to the Bittensor EVM network, not to Elevate.

Values that vary per collection (mint fee, royalty rate, marketplace fee within the cap) are read from that collection's contract and displayed on its page.

What collectors pay

At mint: phase price × quantity, plus the platform mint fee × quantity, plus network gas. The transaction value in your wallet should equal the first two; gas is shown separately.

Buying on the marketplace: the listing price plus gas. The marketplace fee and creator royalty are deducted from what the seller receives, not added on top for the buyer.

Making an offer: the offer amount is escrowed in TAO plus gas for the offer transaction (and for cancelling it, if you do).

What creators pay and receive

To launch: nothing to apply. The platform mint fee is charged to minters, not deducted from the creator's mint proceeds.

On secondary sales: the creator receives the ERC-2981 royalty from every Elevate marketplace sale. The marketplace fee goes to the platform; the seller receives the remainder.

Why you can trust these numbers

The mint fee, marketplace fee cap and royalty settings live in each collection's contract. The collection page reads them from the chain, and you can confirm them on the Taostats EVM explorer. See on-chain collection data and how ERC-2981 royalties work.

Fee FAQ

Does Elevate charge an application fee?
No. Applying to launch is free.
What is the platform mint fee?
A flat amount per NFT, fixed when the collection's contract is deployed and shown on the collection page. It is added to the phase price on every mint.
Is there a marketplace fee?
Yes, on secondary sales only. The contract caps it at 10% and it cannot be raised above the cap after deployment.
What happens to creator royalties?
They are declared on-chain via ERC-2981 and paid automatically to the creator's receiver address on every Elevate marketplace sale, up to the cap agreed at deployment.
Who pays gas?
Whoever sends the transaction: the minter for a mint, the buyer for a purchase, the offerer for an offer. Listing is a signature and costs sellers no gas.
Does listing cost gas?
No. A listing is an off-chain EIP-712 signature. The only seller-side gas is a one-time approval per collection so the marketplace can transfer that collection's tokens.
What happens on free mints?
The phase price is zero, but the platform mint fee still applies as a flat amount, plus gas.
Can fees change after deployment?
The platform mint fee is fixed. The marketplace fee can move within the hardcoded cap but never above it. Royalty rate can be adjusted by the creator within its cap.
Are there refunds?
Blockchain transactions are final. A reverted transaction (for example a sold-out phase) costs only the gas; no mint fee or price is taken because no mint happened.
